Stumbled upon this last night whilst browsing YouTube. Were any WHOers there? It was a match played around Christmas. Classic commentary from the late Tony Gubba
A few "collectors items" in this, including a goal from Tim Breacker and He and MoTM Butler scoring in the same match. Julian Darby only scored 5 league goals for Cov but, typically, grabbed 2 in this match...
Looked a decent match but a shit atmosphere. Although I guess given the time of year, the fact it was around the time the ground was being redeveloped and it was the early days of all-seater then that explains it. You can hear 'The Run' though!

Butler looked really good that day but Redknapp took over at the end of that season, flogged him cheaply and bought Moncur from Swindon for £1m which was a big fee for us back then.
Forgot all about Burrows as well, he was decent for us actually.

Has anyone ever seen footage of our 2-0 league cup semi-final win against Coventry ? I'm sure it was televised and I seem to remember Jimmy Neighbour scoring one of the goals.

would have been there, don't recall much
in fact I have very few memories of when that stand was being built
was watching most matches on a major come down and after a couple of hours sleep at best after Friday nights back then though!

I was at this. Butler played out of his skin. Atmosphere was great that season even without the South Bank. Good little side we had that season.

I was at this game with my dad. We were pretty good but that Julian Darby kept popping up to make it a bit awkward. He looked a good player - I'm surprised he only scored 5 for them.
